This notice covers the sign-up pages at biovanta.llc (the guide, the cost calculator, the supplier scorecard, the primer, our lab reports and the free report check): what we collect when you use them, why, who handles it, and what you can ask us to do.

What we collect here

• Your email address, when you sign up on one of these pages.
• Which page you signed up on, and on the supplier scorecard, your score: how many of the six questions you answered yes. Your individual answers stay in your browser. The cost calculator also runs only in your browser; nothing you type into it is sent to us.
• Your consent: that you ticked the box, and when. If you confirm your address from the email we send, the date you confirmed.
• Which ad brought you here, if any: the ad's topic from the page link, and any tracking tags on that link (utm tags, such as the campaign name).
• A lab report you send us, if you use the free report check: the report and your message. We use them only to reply to you, then delete them, and we never contact the supplier.
• Your IP address, used only to count sign-up attempts, so one address can't send more than five a minute.
• Your cookie choice, saved in your own browser. It isn't sent to us.

If you accept the cookies, two ad-measurement pixels load. Meta's sets a cookie and tells Meta that you visited a page and, later, that you signed up, with the page and the ad's topic. Whop's (Whop runs our ads on Meta) tells Whop the same: a page view and, later, that a sign-up happened. We don't send either of them your email address or your scorecard score. If you reject the cookies, or make no choice, neither pixel loads.

The page's typefaces load from Google Fonts, so Google's servers see your IP address when the page opens.

Why, and the lawful basis

• Consent, to send what you signed up for and the occasional email about lab testing and new batches. We email only after you confirm your address from the first email we send.
• Your request, to check a lab report you send us and reply to you.
• Consent, through the cookie bar, for the Meta and Whop cookies, which measure which of our ads work.
• Legitimate interests, for the sign-up counter, which stops the form being abused.

Who handles it

Our email list is kept on our own server, in self-hosted software. No list provider holds it. These companies process data on our behalf:

• 1984 Hosting: our servers, in Iceland.
• Supabase: our database, in London (EU-West-2).
• Cloudflare: carries your requests to our servers and protects them.
• Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES): sends our emails.
• Sentry: error reports from our server, EU region. Personal data is removed before a report is sent.
• Google (Google Fonts): serves the page's typefaces.
• Meta Platforms Ireland: ad measurement, only if you accept the cookies.
• Whop: runs our ads on Meta and measures them, only if you accept the cookies. Whop is based in the United States, so this data leaves the UK.

How long we keep it

• Your email address, and which page and ad brought you: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
• A lab report you send for checking: only until we have replied.
• After you unsubscribe, we keep your address and the dates you signed up and unsubscribed, as proof of consent and so we never email you again. Ask us to delete it completely and we will.
• Sign-up counters: only as long as we need them to limit abuse of the form.
• Meta's cookie (_fbp): up to 90 days, set by Meta, and only if you accepted it. Whop's cookies: for as long as Whop sets them, and only if you accepted them. Withdrawing consent clears both.

Your rights

• Ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
• Withdraw consent at any time: every email has an unsubscribe link. To change your cookie choice, use "Cookie choice" at the foot of any sign-up page, or clear this site's data in your browser.
• Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk.
